Boomer says......

"You really need a job Mommy!"

It's All Howell's Eve

Or better know as Halloween. Time to take the boys tricker treating tonight and then off to see my daughter, in Vermont, tomorrow. I made it through the down day and have now managed to knit 3 pair of mittens and am on the 4th. Not having made any this way in years, I figure I'm not doing too bad. Seeing as it snowed yesterday (just a dusting), I had better get some made for my boys. We finally pulled out the winter jackets. Ugh!! What if anything do you do to celebrate Halloween?

Help Please!

Being fairly new to blogging, can anyone tell me how to move the section on the right up? Help is appreciated!

Today I wake up

a little under the weather, with 2 extra little ones in my home. I find myself thinking, How can I take care of myself today? Soon four of the children will be off to school. Hoorrah! The fourth child likes to cuddle up on the couch with me and watch cartoons. Not the best, but on days like this it works. A warm bubble bath tonight would be great as well!

What do you do on those days when there are things to do and you can't avoid the task? How do you take care of yourself?

November News Letter

Creative Designs
Well, I have now done my first two craft shows. The first was in Woodstock, ME, and the second in Augusta, ME. It is clear the economy is keeping people from spending! We are all tightening our belts as we wait to see what happens next. Still this will not deter me from continuing creating. For me, it is like and addiction. At least it’s a useful addiction, vs. a harmful one. With each new item I whip off I have a sense of accomplishment! If they sell that is even better. Then I know the item has a home to call it’s own. Some times my boys (3, ages 8,9,11) beg me for things I make. The 8 year old received a monkey, like the one pictured, for his birthday in September. He has quite the monkey collection going. So what’s next? Probably knitting (vs. crocheting) some mittens and working with fleece to make ponchos for cold winter mornings. I have one I wear and I love it! It goes great with my fuzzy slippers. I call it my crafting garb!

Positive Thoughts
Life is too short to fight with someone we cannot change, to be discouraged with something we cannot resolve, and even to feel worried about something that will barely happen. Every life is worth living and we have to fully enjoy whatever we have.” Unknown

Creating For Fun

Today I continue to create and meet other artists on line. I love doing both! Often my mind goes much faster than my hands can go. .... an idea note book- that's what I need. So crafters, I would love it if you subscribe to my site. I will gladly check out yours as well!

Yesterday and Today.....

Yesterday I sorted what I have created thus far. I am concerned about having enough for the craft fairs I have signed up for. Never having done one before, I don't know what will sell and if I have enough. Guess I will find out. I love my husband's idea- have a sign up sheet for custom orders. Should I ask for a percentage down? If I agree to do the item, I will give a date as to when it will be done. I am sure this will be fun. I'm just nervous!

To be listed in my monthly news letter....

One must just let me know you are interested. I look at various etsy sites on a daily basis and keep track of ones I enjoy, and hope to go back to. When I do my news letter I will list 3-5 of these sites each month (no charge!) Eventually (Spring 09) I am going to open a shop and want to develop the ability for etsy artists to post their flyer and business card with me, so tourists and locals can be exposed to these sites. I am very excited about this project!!!! Well, back to my crocheting now :)
